I then used the pliers to cut open 1 corner of the cell.










Then I unwraped the metal cover. Underneath it was a green membrane. After unwrapping the green membrane, I found a roll of thin metal membranes.













One of them was probably copper and the other I think was lithium. The were separated by a thin plastic membrane. These are the three layers.

These are the things with whch I started my quest - A nokia BLD-3 Li-ion cell, a set of pliers and a scre driver set

I pried open the plastic cover with a sharp point screwdriver.
Next I used my hands to rip apart the whole plastic covering to expose the metal cell body.
